The Andes in pictures

Lodge Andino

Today we headed into the Andes to Lodge Andino for a day of R&R before our long overnight flight back to Wichita. The people at the lodge treated us to an amazing meal of lamb and chicken, with a large variety of fire roasted vegetables. Before that, we took a hike with a guide to see some wilderness. Later today, we will take our white knuckle bus ride back to Santiago where we will begin our journey home.

Last day in Chile

Well it is our last day in Chile. It feels like this week has just flown by, and this is first chance I've had to breathe since we got here. Right now I am sitting in a lounge chair next to the Moipa River in the Andes mountains. We have a few minutes before we have to head back into Santiago and go to the airport. This has been a great week. We've had some great meetings with Chilean businessmen, and I've really enjoyed the Chilean culture.

August 10 Vina De Martino

Our last visit was to one of the many Chilean vinas. The export manager Axel Vade explained exporting techniques and trends in the industry. The business is located outside of Santiago. The further we went from Santiago, the more poor subsidized housing we saw.
Tomorrow morning we'll check out of the hotel, and our bus will take us for a few hours to the Andes Mountains. In the evening, we will depart for Kansas.
